Wessex Internet

Wessex Internet is a local and independent business that builds full fibre networks to connect rural communities in Dorset, Wiltshire, Hampshire and Somerset. Founded in 2010 by James Gibson Fleming MBE, the company began with wireless broadband and later expanded into fibre. It offers various broadband packages including Full Fibre Lite, Full Fibre 250, Full Fibre 500, and Full Fibre 900, as well as Home Starter wireless broadband. The company works in partnership with communities and government funding to reach remote areas.

Wessex Internet was started in 2010 by James Gibson Fleming MBE, who sought a better internet connection for his farm near Blandford, Dorset. He built his first wireless link to Paradise Wood near Shroton. In 2012, Wessex Internet as a brand was officially born as a joint venture with M12 Solutions, and the company began using fibre as backhaul for its wireless masts. In 2013, the company made a major machinery investment, focusing on fibre.
