Tokaj-Hétszőlő wine estate

Tokaj-Hétszőlő is a wine estate located on Mount Tokaj in Hungary. The estate's history dates back to 1502 when the Garai family selected the best seven parcels of the Tokaj Mountain, giving the estate its name, which means '7 parcels of vineyard' in Hungarian. The estate was classed as Tokaj Premier Cru in 1772. The estate practices organic winemaking, with 55 hectares becoming organic certified in 2015, and uses only its own grapes to create Hétszőlő wines.

The estate was established in 1502 when the Garai family selected the best seven parcels of the Tokaj Mountain, hence the name Hét-Szőlő, meaning '7 parcels of vineyard' in Hungarian. The parcels were classed as Tokaj Premier Cru as early as 1772, when the estate belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire. In 2015, 55 hectares became organic certified.
