Overview
The Craft Beer Co. is a group of craft beer pubs in London, founded in July 2011 by two London school friends, Martin Hayes and Peter Slezak. The first pub opened in Clerkenwell and was praised as a beer lover's paradise. The business remains independently owned and operates multiple locations across London.
History
The Craft Beer Co. was started in July 2011 by Martin Hayes and Peter Slezak in Clerkenwell EC1. Their idea was to create a great place with an inviting atmosphere, the best products and the best service in a UK pub. They focused on sourcing beer from little known UK and international brewers. The Clerkenwell pub had 16 cask lines, 21 keg taps, and more than 200 bottles. Before the year ended, it was crowned Best Bar in the UK on RateBeer. More pubs have opened, but the values and ethos remain the same, and the ownership is proudly independent.
