Stevens Aerospace, also known as Stevens Aerospace and Defense Systems, is an aviation MRO that has been providing aircraft maintenance, repair, and refurbishment for over 75 years. Founded by J.P. Stevens in 1950, the company has grown from a small aircraft service department to one of the premier MROs in aviation. It offers services including airframe maintenance, avionics, AOG support, and more.
History
Stevens Aerospace's story began in the 1940s when J.P. Stevens and Company, a textile maker, recruited a team of aviation experts to maintain their small fleet. By 1950, Stevens Aviation was born. Over the years, the company has gone by different names – Stevens Beechcraft, then Stevens Aviation, and now Stevens Aerospace & Defense Systems. Key milestones include relocating to Greenville-Spartanburg Jetport in 1962, becoming a Beechcraft dealer in 1967, being purchased by Tom Foley in 1989, securing its first government contract in 1994, and constructing a 200,000SF facility at Donaldson Center in 1998. The company is celebrating its 75th anniversary.
