Spectracom was an American manufacturer of precision time and frequency instruments founded in Rochester, New York, in 1972. The company developed equipment that allowed industrial, communications, public-safety, and test-and-measurement users to establish, distribute, and verify highly accurate time and frequency references. Its early products were built around the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology's WWVB radio time and frequency broadcasts, giving customers access to national-standard traceability without the cost of maintaining their own atomic reference systems. Spectracom's first reported product was a WWVB Receiver-Comparator. History
Spectracom began operations in Rochester, New York, in 1972 as a specialist in precision time and frequency measurement.
