History

Shimane Winery's origin dates back to 1959 (Showa 34), when it started wine production as Yūgengaisha Taisha Budō Kakōjo (Taisha Grape Processing) using 100% Delaware grapes. In 1986 (Showa 61), the current Shimane Winery opened at its present location. In 2008 (Heisei 20), the company established its own vineyard 'Yokota Vineyard' in Okuizumo Town (formerly Yokota Town) in the Chugoku Mountains, marking a further challenge towards high-quality wine production.
