Overview
SAP HANA is SAP’s database and data-platform technology, designed to process transactional and analytical workloads in memory while also supporting disk persistence, columnar storage, SQL, and advanced data-processing capabilities. SAP introduced the technology in the early 2010s as a response to the growing demand for faster analysis of enterprise information and for tighter integration between operational business applications and analytical systems. History
SAP HANA emerged from SAP’s effort to make enterprise data processing substantially more immediate.
