Ritz-Craft

Ritz-Craft is a modular home manufacturer that describes itself as the largest family owned and operated modular home manufacturer in the United States. The company was founded in 1954 and began operations in Argos, Indiana. It offers a range of home collections and floor plans, and emphasizes custom, energy-efficient modular construction.

Ritz-Craft was founded in 1954 and began operations in a newly built plant in Argos, Indiana, initially producing a line of 'travel trailers.' In the late 1960s, after being acquired by Wickes Corporation, now known as Wickes Lumber, Ritz-Craft expanded its product line to include system-built homes. In 1976, four original managers—Paul R. John, Don Ritzenthaler, Glenn Cunningham, and Bob Roney—purchased the company from Wickes and consolidated operations to a centralized headquarters and manufacturing plant in Mifflinburg, PA. In 1991, a formal succession plan was put in place, with Paul D. John named President/CEO and Eric John named Vice President of Operations. In 1995, Ritz-Craft focused on partnerships with builders to support its custom modular construction business.
