The brand was formerly known as Carrefour Taiwan, which was established in 1987 as a joint venture between Uni-President Group and French Carrefour. In 2023, Uni-President Group acquired the remaining shares of Carrefour Taiwan, making it a wholly-owned subsidiary. On June 30, 2026, the online systems were renamed to '萬家福', and on July 1, the hypermarket officially became '萬家福 PROSPERiTY PLAZA'.
