Overview
Plant Prefab is an offsite construction company that custom fabricates panelized and modular components to help deliver housing and hospitality projects in half the time of site-built, with industry-leading quality, efficiency, and sustainability. The company was founded to make it faster, easier, and more sustainable to build high-quality housing, and it offers a panel-based building system that allows for flexibility of scope and level of finish across a range of products, from open-cavity panels to finished modules.
History
Plant Prefab was founded to make it faster, easier, and more sustainable to build high-quality housing. The founders spent a decade working with other housing factories, experiencing the drawbacks of conventional modular and panelized systems, and saw an opportunity for innovation. They recruited a team of experts from construction, architecture, and manufacturing and set out to devise a better approach. The result is an infinitely adaptable panel-based building system, driven by advanced engineering and produced with state-of-the-art manufacturing. In 2006, they founded a residential design studio called LivingHomes, focusing solely on residential design for factory construction. The first home delivered was the first home ever to achieve USGBC LEED for Homes Platinum certification. However, after working with ten different factories, they realized that to truly achieve their vision, they needed a building solution and manufacturing capability of their own.
