History
Phoenix Technologies was incorporated in Massachusetts in September 1979 as Phoenix Software Associates. Neil Colvin founded the company after the failure of his previous employer, Xitan, and hired former Xitan colleague Dave Hirschman. During 1980 and 1981, the young company operated from rented premises at 151 Franklin Street in Boston.
