History
The company was established on February 1, 1961, by separating Hiroshima Works of Sakai Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. In April 1961, it started production of barium sulfate, almina white, and 'LINEPHALT®'. Over the years, it expanded its operations, including starting production of catalysts in 1973, organophosphorus compounds in 1980, and precious metal powder in 1981. It also acquired Hakko Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. in 1986.
