Mikurigaike Onsen

Mikurigaike Onsen is a mountain lodge and natural hot spring located at an elevation of 2,410 m on the Murodo-daira plateau in Tateyama, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. According to its official website, it opened on August 13, 1957 as Japan's highest natural hot spring, founded by Hachiroemon Oguchi together with a friend. The spring source is in Jigokudani, and the bath is operated as a 100% free-flowing, unheated, unwatered simple acidic spring with milky sulfur-scented water. The lodge also operates a day-use hot spring, the cafe 'Kissa Mikuri', the 'Restaurant Mikuri', and a shop selling original goods and Montbell products.
