Luis Pato

Luis Pato is a wine brand associated with a family that owns 55 hectares of vineyards in the Bairrada region. The vineyards grow only Portuguese grape varieties, including Baga, Touriga Nacional, Maria Gomes, Bical, Cercial, and Sercialinho, the latter being exclusive to the family. The brand emphasizes a tradition of innovation and creative winemaking.

Luís Pato inherited from his father, João Pato, not only knowledge of the vineyard but also a nonconformist and pioneering spirit. In 1980, he launched his first wine: a monovarietal Baga of unusual quality and very rare production. He was also one of the first Portuguese producers to take his wines beyond borders. In 2015, Luís's youngest daughter, Maria João, joined the family project, marking the beginning of a new phase, leading to a focus on natural wines made from native grape varieties.
