Iridium Russia (ООО «Иридиум Коммьюникешенс») is a Russian organization created in 2008, operating as the operator of the Russian segment of the Iridium network. It provides satellite communication services based on a decision of the State Commission on Radio Frequencies and a license from Roskomnadzor. The company built an Earth station in Izhevsk to meet legal requirements.
History
In 2008, the Russian organization ООО «Иридиум Коммьюникешенс» was created on the territory of the Russian Federation, acting as the operator of the Russian segment of the Iridium network. In 2012, the organization began providing services based on a decision of the State Commission on Radio Frequencies (SCRF) dated October 2, 2012 No. 12-15-05-7 and a license from the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications No. 141932 for 'mobile satellite radiocommunication services'. In 2016, to meet legal requirements, the operator built an Earth station in Izhevsk, Russia.
