Inamasu Shipbuilding

Inamasu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is a Japanese shipbuilding company founded in 1925 (Taisho 14). It is located in Wakamatsu-ku, Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The company engages in the manufacture and repair of steel ships, light metal ships, marine engine maintenance, port civil engineering, and dredging works.

Founded in January 1925 as Inamasu Small Shipyard in Wakamatsu Karato-cho. In 1935, the factory was moved to Wakamatsu Fujinoki. In 1940, the shipyard was dissolved due to corporate merger and Kabushiki Kaisha Kyodo Shipbuilding was established. In 1944, it was taken over by Nippon Steel Yahata Port Transport Co., Ltd. In 1948, that company dissolved and Inamasu Small Shipyard was restarted at the current location. In 1975, Yamagumi Shipyard was acquired and construction of the current facility began. In 1980, Saka Shipbuilding Industry was acquired. In 1981, the company obtained a construction permit from the Fukuoka Prefectural Governor and started construction work. In 1981, the name was changed to Inamasu Shipyard. In 1985, it was commissioned to maintain the water facilities of Wakamatsu Boat Race Course. In 1998, the organization was changed and the name was changed to Inamasu Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. In 1998, it obtained a construction permit from the Fukuoka Prefectural Governor for civil engineering, steel structures, dredging, and painting, and started port civil engineering work. In 2012, Toshiyuki Inamasu retired as president and was succeeded by Kasuke Inamasu. In 2017, Kasuke Inamasu retired and was succeeded by Haruki Inamasu.
