Gerlinger Steel & Supply Co. is a fourth-generation family owned steel distribution and fabrication company serving Northern California and the West Coast since 1929. It operates two warehouses in Redding and Woodland, California, and provides structural steel, plate, tube, pipe, and custom fabrication services.

Gerlinger Steel & Supply Company has been a trusted partner to contractors, fabricators, manufacturers, and builders throughout Northern California and the West Coast since 1929. What began as Gerlinger Foundry and Machine Works has grown into a full-service steel distribution and fabrication company with locations in Redding and Woodland, California. Through four generations of family ownership, the company has maintained a commitment to provide quality steel products, expert knowledge, and reliable service. In 1929, Fred W. Gerlinger, Sr. purchased the facility, rebuilt it, and opened for business. In 1930, Gerlinger Foundry and Machine Works was incorporated in the State of California by E. E. 'Bert' Gerlinger for his father, Fred W. Gerlinger, Sr. In 1935, the company started selling steel. In 1936, the first electric welder was purchased. In 1937, Bay 2 was completed. In 1940, the County Shop was purchased, and Bert's two younger brothers, Fred Jr. and Frank, joined the business. Materials were supplied for the rest of the decade to help build both Shasta and Keswick Dams. In 1941, due to wartime fuel rationing, Dobbin Gulch Mining ceased operation. In 1946, Bay 1 was completed, attached to the east wall of Bay 2.

  Carbon steel beam, angle, channel, plate, sheet, tube, pipe and bar are stocked at our Redding and Woodland locations. We also stock stainless and aluminum alloys.

• Custom Fabrication

  In-house fabrication capabilities including cutting, drilling, welding, and bending. We quote from detailed drawings, CAD files, hand sketches, and templates.
