Georgetown University Alumni & Student Federal Credit Union

The Georgetown University Alumni & Student Federal Credit Union (GUASFCU) is a credit union founded to provide affordable, accessible and convenient banking services to Hoyas. Its mission is to grant credit for provident and productive purposes, to provide affordable financial services to its members, and to educate its members and volunteers about the credit union movement through practical business experience. GUASFCU operates a branch in the Leavey Center and describes itself as the largest entirely student-run financial institution in the world, in total assets under management and in membership, with all 150+ interns from tellers to the CEO being Georgetown undergraduate students.

GUASFCU was founded to provide affordable, accessible and convenient banking services to Hoyas. Nearly 40 years later, over 60% of Hoya students choose GUASFCU. The credit union operates a branch in the Leavey Center between the bookstore and Vital Vittles, open 6 days a week until 6:30PM during the school year, with variable hours during breaks and summer. GUASFCU describes itself as the largest entirely student-run financial institution in the world, in total assets under management and in membership, with all 150+ interns from tellers to the CEO being Georgetown undergraduate students.
