The brand's story begins in the 1840s in East Liverpool, Ohio. In 1871, local brothers Homer and Shakespeare Laughlin opened their own pottery. By 1877, Shakespeare sold his share to his brother, and The Homer Laughlin China Works was born, sowing the seeds of The Fiesta Tableware Company. Since 1936, a total of 56 colors were introduced into the line, and the company continues its tradition of introducing a new color each year.
