Euskotren

Euskotren, formally Eusko Trenbideak in Basque and Ferrocarriles Vascos in Spanish, is a public railway and transport company controlled by the Basque Government. It was established in 1982 under the institutional framework created by the Statute of Autonomy of the Basque Country. Its original role was to take over the operation and management of several metre-gauge railway lines in the Basque Autonomous Community that had previously been operated by FEVE, the state-owned narrow-gauge railway company.
