Eisermann & Avendaño Bird Studies Guatemala (Guatemala)

Eisermann & Avendaño Bird Studies Guatemala is a private initiative by Knut Eisermann and Claudia Avendaño, who have been studying the birds of Guatemala since the mid-1990s. They focus on ornithological studies in Middle America, with an emphasis on Guatemala, including evaluations of local avifaunas, natural history of selected bird species, status of threatened species, and identification of critical areas for conservation. Their research also includes herpetological and botanical field studies. Much of their research was carried out and published under the umbrella of the PROEVAL RAXMU Bird Monitoring Program from 2002 to 2018.

Eisermann & Avendaño Bird Studies Guatemala is a private initiative. Knut Eisermann and Claudia Avendaño have been studying the birds of Guatemala since the mid-1990s. Until 2018, they carried out and published most studies under the umbrella of the PROEVAL RAXMU Bird Monitoring Program, which was part of PROEVAL RAXMU (Asociación de Proyectos Evaluados Raxmu), a non-profit and non-governmental organization for nature conservation and sustainable development in Guatemala.
