Disznoko

Disznókő is a wine estate located in the Tokaj wine region of Hungary. The estate's name comes from the Disznókő vineyard, first mentioned in writing in 1413. Since its purchase by AXA Millésimes in 1992, the estate has been recognized as being at the forefront of the renaissance of great Tokaj wines. The estate produces unique Aszú wines and a range of dry white wines made from indigenous grape varieties.

The Disznókő estate takes its name from the Disznókő vineyard, whose first known written mention dates to 1413. The name Disznókő means 'wild boar rock', referring to the shape of a large volcanic rock at the heart of the vineyard or, according to other geographers, to the shape of the hill on which the vines are situated. Since its purchase in 1992 by AXA Millésimes, the Disznókő estate has brought together a single block of historic vineyards located around the property's cellars. Having belonged to influential aristocratic families for centuries, these vineyards are known for their remarkable terroirs that allow the production of great wines. With its know-how and experience, Disznókő is today recognized as being at the forefront of the renaissance of the great wines of Tokaj.
