The DIPF | Leibniz-Institut für Bildungsforschung und Bildungsinformation contributes to overcoming challenges in the education system with empirical educational research, digital infrastructure, and targeted knowledge transfer. The knowledge about education developed and documented by the Leibniz Institute supports science, politics, and practice in the education sector for the benefit of society. In its research, the DIPF addresses teaching-learning quality in educational institutions, different conditions of education, necessary competencies of pedagogical staff, historical development of education, digitally supported teaching-learning processes, and the provision and utilization of educational knowledge in research and information infrastructures and transfer processes. Researchers from various disciplines, especially educational science, psychology, sociology, history, information science, and computer science, work together. Against the background of societal and technological developments, the DIPF defined four strategic thematic priorities in 2021.
