De Ferrari Editore

De Ferrari Editore is an Italian publishing house based in Genoa. Its activity began in 1973 when Gianfranco De Ferrari registered his first periodical. In the mid-1980s, together with Franco Accame, it entered book publishing with titles on local gastronomy. In 1989 the company assumed its current name after briefly publishing under the names 'City 2' and 'Janua'.

De Ferrari Editore's activity began in 1973, when Gianfranco De Ferrari, already active in advertising and communication with the free-press 'City', registered his first periodical dedicated to collecting. In the mid-1980s, together with writer and journalist Franco Accame, he approached book publishing, publishing some very successful titles dedicated to local gastronomy. Soon production expanded to essays and fiction, with the collaboration of writer and essayist Giuseppe Marcenaro, and in 1989 the publishing house assumed its current name (after having published for a short period under the names 'City 2' and later 'Janua'). Between the 1990s and 2000s, production intensified and Gianfranco was joined by his son Fabrizio, who also followed the music publishing sector, relaunching and expanding the catalog of Devega, a label founded in Genoa in 1970. The growth continued steadily and the publishing house is now among the most active in the territory, as well as known nationally. The transformation of the sector due to digital technology also began, with De Ferrari always keeping up with the times. The catalog expanded further with new series and numerous prestigious authors. Among the awards, first places in the Procida-Isola di Arturo-Elsa Morante prize 2001 with the translation by Camilla Salvago Raggi of 'Suspence' by Joseph Conrad, in Bancarella Cucina 2006 with 'Gola mater amatissima' by Paolo Aldo Rossi, in the Pavese Prize 2013 with the collection 'Tempo nuovo' by Guido Zavanone.
