CYREN was a cybersecurity technology company whose roots reached back to Commtouch, an Israeli business incorporated in 1991 by Gideon Mantel. The company initially developed Internet communications and security technologies and later evolved toward cloud-delivered protection for businesses, telecommunications providers, original equipment manufacturers, and other technology partners. In December of that year, Data443 Risk Mitigation acquired selected CYREN assets, particularly technologies related to threat intelligence, URL categorization, and email security. The corporate operating company is defunct, although portions of its technology portfolio entered another company's asset base.
