Overview
CuRe Technology is a low-energy recycling solution for hard-to-recycle polyester, developed in collaboration with Morssinkhof, Cumapol, DuFor, and Niaga, and NHL Stenden University. The technology aims to purify and convert used polyester into high-grade 100% rPET, replacing fossil-derived PET. A pilot plant has been built in Emmen with a capacity of 20 kg/hr, and plans for a demonstration plant (25 kta) are mentioned.
History
CuRe Technology is a polyester rejuvenation technology developed by a consortium including Morssinkhof, Cumapol, DuFor, and Niaga, in collaboration with NHL Stenden University. The technology aims to recycle colored, mixed, and contaminated polyester into 100% rPET. A pilot plant has been built in Emmen, operated continuously, with a capacity of 20 kg/hr. Financial support was received from SNN and the European Union for the pilot plant phases.
