History
Copreci was founded in 1963 when 40 people came together to create 'Componentes de precisión'. In 1970, it manufactured the first motor pump fully developed in-house. By 1975, Copreci had over 900 workers. In 1980, it exported 70% of its production, leading to a commercial network based on agents and delegations. In 1988, it made the first pressure sensor for the Ariane space project. In 1989, it established operations in Mexico, the first international implantation of the Mondragon Corporation. In 1991, Copreci became the first industrial company in the Basque Country and the seventh in Spain to obtain joint AENOR-AFAQ quality certification. In 1992, it received the Prince Felipe Award for Quality and the Q de plata, later Q de Oro from Euskalit. In 1993, it received the 'Q de Oro' from Bosch-Siemens for three consecutive years (1991-1993). In 1994, Copreci integrated into the Components Division of Mondragon Corporation. In 1999, Copreci CZ started in Dvorce, Czech Republic. In 2000, it began manufacturing the first induction generator and positioned itself as the world's first independent induction manufacturer. In 2002, Copreci Italia started. In 2003, a new plant in Gebze, Turkey. In 2004, a factory in Zhuhai, China, and Copreci Aretxabaleta obtained OSHAS 18001 certification. Also in 2004, development of the new BLDC electric pump with Brushless technology, with first sales in 2008. In 2007, Copreci presented its first innovations combining electronics and gas: smart cooking for gas hobs and a control for stoves.
