Overview
Champagne Gardet is a family and independent Champagne house located in Chigny-les-Roses, a Premier Cru village. It offers three ranges of champagnes: Collection Tradition, Collection Extra Brut, and Collection Prestige. The house was founded in 1895 by Charles Gardet in Epernay.
History
Champagne Gardet was founded in 1895 by Charles Gardet in Epernay. The first bottles created were Brut Tradition, Brut Réserve 1er Cru, and Brut Rosé d'assemblage. After Charles's death in 1913, his son Georges Gardet took over the house. In the 1930s, thanks to the purchase of the premises of Champagne De Tassigny in Chigny-les-Roses by Anna Madeleine (Georges's mother), Georges took direction of that house and continued the family history in Chigny. He dedicated his career to developing the family estate and sales, especially in England, and introduced the technique of 'sous-bois' aging. He died in 1952, and his wife Anne Marie Germaine Gardet then took over the direction.
