History
Carline has its origins in the USA under Tenneco Automotive as a division of Walker Australia. The concept was adapted and brought to Australia in the late 1980s. In 1987, Walker Australia assembled the team that would become the brand marketing and recruitment group. The first Carline store opened in Morphett Vale, SA in 1988. Over the next 2 years the group grew to a little over 100 stores. From 1992 and throughout the 1990s, Carline expanded its service offerings beyond muffler and exhaust to include servicing and brakes. In the 2000s, Carline invested in technology and training. Some 20+ years after the group started, products and services offered by Carline stores grew to include servicing, brakes, suspension, batteries, and much more.
