Overview
Château Capion is a wine estate located in Aniane, in the heart of the Terrasses du Larzac, 30 minutes from Montpellier. The estate has been organic since 2020 and covers 96 hectares including woods, gardens, vines and park. It produces red and white wines under several ranges: Château Capion, Chemin des Garennes, Songe d'Éocène, and Domaine de Capion.
History
The initial construction of the Domaine de Capion dates to the 16th century, with modifications in the 19th century adding a north wing. In 1828, the estate was acquired by the Keittinger family. In the 20th century, it changed owners several times: the Wormser family from 1900, the Salasc family in the 1960s, the Bürher family in 1996, and Oleg Chirkunov in 2016. In 2023, the château was acquired by Francis Ingrand and Sandrine Tannière.
