BigLift Shipping has a history dating back to 1973. According to the official history page, in 1973 Mammoet Shipping was founded as the 'sea leg' of Mammoet Transport. In 2000, Mammoet Shipping became a full subsidiary of Spliethoff and changed its name to BigLift Shipping B.V. per 1 January 2001. In 2019, BigLift Shipping and Chung Yang Shipping joined forces in heavy transport shipping.
