History
BFS Companies began in 1974 as an agriculture business (Bruceton Farm Service) when Marshall Bishop purchased a Southern States store in Bruceton Mills, WV. In the early 1980s, the first BFS Foods convenience store was opened in Mt Lake Park, MD. Since then, the company has grown through acquisitions and new builds to more than 90 convenience store locations and 20 liquor stores in a five-state operating area of WV, MD, PA, OH, and VA. The company also operates 80+ branded fast foods inside or beside its convenience store locations, including Burger King, Little Caesars Pizza, Subway, Dairy Queen, IHOP, Huddle House, and Tim Hortons Café & Bake Shop. BFS Companies remains a private, family owned and operated corporation headquartered in Morgantown, WV.
