Founded in 2020 in Gurugram, the company operates physical recycling infrastructure including automated collection, mechanical preprocessing, black mass production, and hydrometallurgical refining. It offers solutions for OEMs, EV fleets, aggregators, and grid storage, and supplies high-purity battery materials such as lithium carbonate, cobalt sulphate, nickel sulphate, and manganese sulphate.
History
BatX Energies was founded in 2020 in Gurugram by Utkarsh Singh and Vikrant Singh to solve India's growing end-of-life battery challenge with indigenous technology. In 2022, the company scaled from pilot operations to factory-grade processing with support from investors and the Technology Development Board. In 2024, BatX inaugurated HUB-1, the Critical Minerals Extraction facility in Sikandrabad, Uttar Pradesh, processing up to 5,100 MT of batteries annually. Today, the company operates a hub-and-spoke expansion with collection spokes feeding central hydrometallurgical recovery, with seven patents filed and two granted.
