Barone di Serramarrocco

Barone di Serramarrocco is a winery located in Erice, Sicily, Italy. The estate is situated on the western coast of the island at the foothills of Mount Erice, within the DOC Erice wine route. The property benefits from a breezy maritime microclimate at an altitude of approximately 350 meters above sea level.

In 1624, Don Juan Antonio Marrocco y Orioles, Lord of the Manor of Serramarrocco and Captain of Justice of Salemi, was elevated as first Baron of Serramarrocco by King Philip IV of Spain and Sicily. The King granted him a Royal Domain held in 'baroniam Serrae Marrocco', a Crown Estate renowned for its fine vineyards, which were reserved for winemaking of wines of the Royal Court of Sicily.
