Bäckerei Wahl

Bäckerei Wahl is a family-run artisan bakery based in Bestensee, Germany. It has been operating for over 40 years and emphasizes quality and regionality. The company also runs a café in Bestensee at the train station and has multiple branches.

The company began in 1972 when Inge and Karl-Heinz Wahl became self-employed in the baking trade, starting in a small rented bakery in Volkstedt. At the end of 1978, they moved to their own bakery in Bestensee, marking the successful founding of the company. After the political change in 1989, the company developed steadily. In 2005, a new production site was established in the small commercial area in Bestensee. On February 6, 2016, the café at Bestensee station was opened. In 2017, Anett Wahl took over the family business from her parents.
