Aotai Electric Co., LTD is a leading manufacturer of inverter welding and cutting equipments, and solar inverters in China. It offers nearly 100 welding machine models in 13 series, including Inverter MMA, TIG, MIG, SAW, Water Cooling Machine, and Inverter Air Plasma Cutter. Its solar division was set up in 2009, mainly manufacturing on-grid and hybrid inverters, with total installation over 10GW. The company was founded in 1993 by several professors and their graduate students from Shandong University.

Aotai was founded in 1993 by several professors and their graduate students from Shandong University. In 1999, Aotai built a 28,000 square feet manufacturing facility in Jining, Shandong province and was named one of the National Torch Plan Hi-Tech Enterprise. In 2002, Aotai received a National Science and Technology Advancement silver award. In 2004, a 1,700,000 square feet factory was constructed in Zichuan, Shandong province, and the inverter welding machine series became the best selling welding machine in China.
