History
Alvernia Studios was founded in 2000 by Stanisław Tyczyński, a Polish broadcasting executive, entrepreneur and founder and former owner of RMF FM. The studio emerged as a privately developed alternative to Poland’s historically state-dominated film infrastructure and has been described as the first non-state film company established in post-war Poland. The company’s main facility was built in Alwernia Municipality, roughly 18 kilometres west of Kraków Airport. Its approximately 13,000-square-metre production complex consists of distinctive domed buildings designed to house a range of film, television, music and digital-media activities. The infrastructure has included multiple sound stages, a large spherical blue-screen facility, music-scoring studios, motion-capture technology, 16 mm and 35 mm film laboratories, color correction, visual-effects services and final mixing. The combination of production and finishing resources allowed the studio to serve as more than a location or rental stage: it could provide an integrated technical environment for projects from principal photography through post-production. Alvernia’s work has covered international feature films, commercials, music projects, games, shows and concerts. Its documented film credits include the Polish and international productions Essential Killing, Crulic: The Path to Beyond, Azaan, Vamps, Arbitrage, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and Burning Bush. The company also pursued distinctive music and entertainment activities, including an initiative described as the world’s smallest concert. Offices in Warsaw and Mumbai supported the studio’s connections to domestic and international markets. In 2017, Grupa Gremi acquired the studio. The group was controlled by entrepreneur Grzegorz Hajdarowicz, who planned to establish an entertainment center within the complex. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted those plans. In response, the Alvernia xR project was created, emphasizing augmented-reality production and indicating a strategic interest in emerging production technologies alongside the studio’s established film and post-production capabilities. On November 30, 2021, a fire occurred at the facility. The available material records the event but does not provide enough verified information about its cause, damage, insurance, restoration or subsequent business activity. The current operational status of Alvernia Studios therefore remains uncertain in this dossier. Its documented historical identity is that of an unusually comprehensive Polish production campus serving film, advertising, music and newer immersive-media formats.

Products and positioning
An integrated Polish film and audiovisual production campus combining soundstages, specialist capture and recording facilities, post-production departments and international production-service capabilities.
Feature-film production servicesFilm production
Production support for international theatrical features, including access to sound stages, technical crews, specialist equipment and associated production infrastructure. The studio has been connected with Polish, European, Indian and United States-related projects, making cross-border production servicing a central part of its historical profile.
Commercial production servicesAdvertising production
Studio and technical support for commercials and other advertising projects. The offering draws on Alvernia’s controlled production environments, blue-screen capability and post-production departments, although the available material does not specify standard packages, pricing or named advertising clients.
Post-production and visual effectsPost-production
Post-production infrastructure historically included film laboratories, color correction, visual-effects work and final mixing. These capabilities allowed projects to move from captured material toward completed theatrical, commercial or other audiovisual deliverables within the same broader studio campus.
Music scoring and recordingMusic production
Music-related facilities and activities have included scoring studios, concert-related work and experimental music projects. The studio’s profile therefore extends beyond image production into recorded and live audiovisual entertainment, although the reference material does not identify a current catalog or service structure.
Motion capture and blue-screen productionSpecialist production technology
The complex has included motion-capture technology and a very large spherical blue-screen environment. These facilities support effects-heavy filmmaking, digital characters, compositing and other productions requiring controlled image capture rather than conventional location photography.
