Accurec

Accurec Recycling GmbH is a company that develops, builds, and improves battery recycling. It has been doing so for 20 years. The company operates plants in Krefeld and Mülheim an der Ruhr.

Accurec was founded in 1995. In 1997, a plant for nickel-cadmium batteries was opened in Mülheim/Ruhr. In 2001, vacuum distillation technology was commissioned, expanding capacity to 1,000 tons per year. In 2004, recycling was extended to nickel-metal hydride batteries. In 2010, further vacuum furnaces with a capacity of 3,000 tons per year were commissioned. In 2011, research and development for recycling Li-ion household batteries began. In 2013, research and development for recycling Li-ion batteries from the automotive industry started. In 2016, the new headquarters in Krefeld and a Li-battery recycling plant were opened. In 2020, the operating permit was extended. In 2021, new buildings were completed: storage and sorting building as well as safety storage, and construction phase 2 was completed: expansion of sorting and safety storage. In 2023, a lithium recovery plant was built and commissioned.
