Overview
ZOM Living is a residential brand that emphasizes art and design in its communities. The brand's roots trace back to the Netherlands, with a history of design innovation since 1977. It offers various types of living including highrise, midrise, lowrise, and senior living.
History
ZOM's roots in the Netherlands run long and deep. Derived from the Dutch word 'Oil' (Zyderveld Olie Maatschappij), ZOM's founder, Joost Zyderveld, built a successful energy business in Rotterdam in the 1960s, funded by local Dutch investors. He then turned to real estate, and moved to Central Florida in 1977, carrying over the ZOM name and investing in local projects with his loyal Dutch partners. Zyderveld sold the company in 1997 to Hans van Veggel and ZOM's investor base transitioned from private Dutch capital to U.S. institutional investors, solidifying a foundation for future growth. Today, ZOM Living is majority owned by the van Veggel family, through their family office, Timeless Investments located in Amsterdam.
