WPAI

WPAI is a provider of AI-powered solutions for WordPress, with a focus on making WordPress more accessible and efficient. The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas, and is 100% remote and global. WPAI was acquired by Automattic in December 2024. Its products include CodeWP, AgentWP, and WP.Chat.

WPAI's first product, CodeWP, was launched in early November 2022. The WPAI company was formalized in 2023, and capital was raised in August. Greg Hunt joined as CTO. CodeWP V2 was launched in October 2023, leveraging custom models. In 2024, several major updates were made to CodeWP, development began on AgentWP in March, WP.Chat was launched in August, and the AI Agent was planned for September. In December 2024, WPAI was acquired by Automattic.
