Wick sold several Louisiana and Arizona properties in 2014, sold The Daily Herald and Half Moon Bay Review in 2018, and acquired The Wenatchee World in the same year. It purchased additional properties in Colorado, Minnesota, and South Dakota, closed the Independent-Enterprise of Payette in 2020, and expanded River City Newspapers in Arizona in 2022. In 2023, Wick acquired the Arizona Daily Sun from Lee Enterprises. Later transactions included the sale of some properties and the addition of a television station, NCWLife channel, in 2024. Family leadership continued into the twenty-first century. Francis Wick became CEO in 2016. Walter M. Wick died that year, and Robert J. Wick died in 2022. In 2024, Francis Wick announced his planned departure as CEO and Josh O'Connor was named as his replacement. The company remains a private, family-owned local-media enterprise whose business model combines newspaper franchises, digital publishing, specialty products, and selected broadcast or printing assets.
