It was founded by Karl Thomas, a master carpenter, who began crafting solutions for his wife with ALS in the 1960s. The company now impacts lives in over 53 countries.

In the 1960s, Karl Thomas, a master carpenter in Bremervörde, began developing assistive devices for his wife Anneliese, who was diagnosed with ALS. After her passing in 1967, he and his son Wilfried founded an information and consultation center with the motto 'Aiding from Thomas!'. The company later pioneered the first rollator in Germany and now impacts lives in over 53 countries.
