Rombauer Vineyards

Rombauer Vineyards was founded in 1980 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer and produces wines from Napa Valley, Sonoma County, the Sierra Foothills, and the Santa Lucia Highlands. The winery describes itself as known for high-quality wines, exceptional vineyard sites, family-style hospitality, and a commitment to sharing the Joy of Wine. Its current releases include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. Visitors can experience Rombauer in St Helena, Napa Valley, and at Rombauer Plymouth in Amador County.

Rombauer Vineyards was founded in 1980 by Koerner and Joan Rombauer. In 1972, Koerner and Joan Rombauer arrived in St. Helena with two children, two horses, five dogs, and plenty to learn. Koerner was in the final stretch of nearly 30 years in the skies, and they were ready to set down roots, farm the land, and make something of their own. In 1980, they made the first Rombauer wine. Joan immersed herself in the business of selling it, drawing on years spent learning the trade at Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars, while Koerner rolled up his sleeves in the cellar. Richie Allen joined Koerner and Joan as a harvest intern in 2004 and became their head winemaker just four years later. Today, he leads a dedicated team committed to the style and standards that have defined Rombauer Vineyards for decades.
