Overview
Replas is an Australian manufacturer of recycled plastic products, established in 1991. The company produces a range of over 200 durable outdoor products, including furniture, bollards, decking, and signage, made from a minimum of 85% recycled plastic sourced from Australian waste. Replas aims to provide sustainable solutions by diverting plastic from landfill and oceans.
History
Replas was founded on 26 March 1991 as Australian Recycling Technologies (ART) by brothers Brad and Russell Muller, along with friends George and Cathy Mingin. The company registered Replas Products to distinguish their products from competitors. Initially with only 3 employees, they developed technology to reprocess waste plastic into useful items like inground hydrant and valve boxes and the Hume Setting. In 1992, ART Replas Products won the Banksia Environmental Award for Recycling. In 1993, Replas moved to a new location.
