Primo Grills

Primo Grills is a brand of ceramic grills. According to the company's story, George Samaras founded Primo Ceramic Grills in 1996 after developing his own formula for the refractory material. The brand name 'Primo' means 'the best' in Italian.

George Samaras, after serving as a pharmacist in the Greek military, met his future wife Kelley in 1988. They moved to the United States, where George was introduced to a kamado cooker. He began shipping these cookers to Greece for friends and family, and when the manufacturer declined to give him a distributorship, he decided to make his own. Despite skepticism from ceramic engineers, he developed his own refractory material formula and founded Primo Ceramic Grills in 1996. The name 'Primo' means 'the best' in Italian.
