Privacy controversy over mandatory Xbox One Kinect
Microsoft's original Xbox One plan required Kinect to remain connected for the console to function. Critics and users raised concerns about an always-connected camera and microphone, data collection, surveillance, and household privacy. Microsoft subsequently reversed the mandatory-connection policy.
