KFVS-TV is a commercial television station licensed to Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and serving a multistate region commonly branded by the station as the Heartland. Its principal network affiliation is with CBS, while The CW is carried on a digital subchannel. It was later moved to KFVS-DT2 after KBSI introduced its own independently outsourced newscasts in 2022. KFVS ended analog broadcasting on June 12, 2009, the federally designated date for the full-power U.S. digital television transition. In July 2011, KFVS became the second major news operation in its market to produce local newscasts in high definition, introducing an updated studio and graphics package at the same time.
