Jacaranda Carpets

Jacaranda Carpets is a brand that creates carpets and rugs, emphasizing quality, ethics, and environmental responsibility. The company was founded by Richard and Lucy Meager, who serve as Joint Managing Directors. Jacaranda distributes to over 40 countries worldwide.

Jacaranda was created over 20 years ago by Richard and Lucy Meager. Richard, with 10 years' experience in importing high-quality floorcoverings, encountered a handmade carpet sample, leading to a trip to India and an order within a fortnight. The name Jacaranda was chosen, evoking memories of a Jacaranda tree in Cape Town for Richard and teenage travels in New Delhi for Lucy. In 2004, the company moved from a spare bedroom to a converted garage, then to larger premises. Lucy officially joined in 2006. In 2009, Jacaranda expanded into export, taking a stand at Maison Objet in Paris and recruiting its first overseas distributor. The company joined Goodweave that year. In 2010, Jacaranda first appeared at the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour.
