Horiuchi

Horiuchi Co., Ltd. is a Japanese food processing company that has been engaged in food processing since 1971, focusing on Okinawan mozuku. The company develops and manufactures products with a commitment to contributing to people's health through food.

Horiuchi began mozuku processing in 1971. In March 1972, Horiuchi Shōji was established as a manufacturer of seafood products such as mozuku and wakame. In July 1976, a Yokohama sales office was established as a base for the Kanto and northern regions. In May 1982, the head office factory was relocated to Higashiaikawa, and new products such as ajitsuke mozuku, tare-tsuki mozuku, and Chinese-style seasoned wakame salad were developed. In August 1983, the company was reorganized as Horiuchi Co., Ltd. In June 1989, Kaneyoshi Co., Ltd. was established as a soft drink manufacturing division, and in April 1990, it was renamed FCC Horiuchi Co., Ltd., becoming a sister company of Horiuchi. In April 1991, a second factory was added to the head office. In March 1993, the Yokohama sales office was moved to Chiba and became the Kanto office. In August 2017, a second Kanto office was established. In May 2025, the former head office became the Kyushu office, and the head office was moved to Chiba. On January 8, 2026, Horiuchi Wakamatsuya HD was established, with Horiuchi Yoshiyuki becoming representative director, and Horiuchi Daisaku becoming representative director of Horiuchi Co., Ltd.
