Heineken France

Heineken France describes itself as a brewer and distributor. According to its own history page, the HEINEKEN adventure began in Amsterdam in 1864 when Gerard Adriaan Heineken acquired a brewery producing only Lager-type beers. The group entered France in 1972 with the acquisition of the Alsacienne de Brasserie, which included the Brasserie de l'Espérance de Schiltigheim, the Brasserie Mutzig and the Brasserie de Colmar. Seven years later, the first Heineken beer was brewed in France. In 1986 the Brasserie Le Pélican de Mons-en-Barœul, brewing Pelforth, and in 1988 the Brasserie La Valentine de Marseille, producing Phénicienne, joined HEINEKEN France. Development accelerated with the purchase of France Boissons from 1987, making HEINEKEN France both brewer and distributor.

Development accelerated with the purchase of France Boissons from 1987, present in all French regions, allowing HEINEKEN France to become both brewer and distributor.
